Environmental pretection at the global crossroads

Abstract

These are difficult times for climate and environmental policies. The shift towards global right-wing populism had led to changes in climate and ecological transition policies that amount to climate denialism. The setback is already detected in the postponement of ambitious commitments, the abandonment of legislative initiatives and laxity in environmental controls. In Galicia, a parallel can be drawn between lacklustre environmental and language policies that are devoid of objectives, compliance assessment and prescriptive mandates.
