Xela Arias left a self-portrait in her work: that of a “fighting” and even “fearless” woman who never let cowardice get the better of her. The author offers in this work an examination of the daily life of a woman who today would clash with the “against everyone always” cult of success and competition, and who always displayed a deep sense of justice and freedom. The defence of gender equality or even the dissemination of art were part of the causes that Arias defended, the latter as a member of the Nautilus Foundation Cultural Association, led by her friend, Xosé Guillermo, the artist and illustrator of the first edition of Denuncia do equilibrio [Condemnation of the Equilibrium] (1986).
