Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to describe the role played by Xaime Isla Couto in Galician Economy during the 20th Century. In our opinion, his major contribution was the introduction in Galicia of the economic and political thought of postwar Europe through the management of the Revista de Economía de Galicia, the teaching of Economics and Law at the School of Engineering in Vigo, and the training of young people between the 1960’s and 1990’s.
