The present paper tells the story of Nimbos, a poetry book published in 1961 that stands as one of the high points of Galician literature in the twentieth century, from the first poems appearing in the magazine Alba to the second edition in Galaxia (1989). In fact this second edition could be regarded like a kind of “poetical will” because the writer revised and amended the poems a short time before his death. The thirty two compositions of Nimbos mark a turning point in Galician literature and made his creator, Xosé María Díaz Castro, into a great literary figure who appeared before the general public as an unknown writer with only one book.
