'Look and stare', two discursive scoreboards in three languages: Portuguese, Galician and Spanish

Abstract

It is presented a description of the discursive scoreboards operational process (MD) olla/olha in Galician and Portuguese, and mira in Galician and Spanish. Therefore, this work is placed in the research line of the speech analysis, combined with contrastive linguistics. In these pages is mainly treated the question why certain perception verb forms use to develope a discursive function, the operational process and the values of MD olla/olha and mira, all that situated in an exemplified corpus of three languages, and even more the existing contrasts among them. In a more specific way, the differences between Galician olla and mira and its causes are going to be analyzed.
