Novas aplicacións informáticas para recoller, normalizar e difundir a toponimia de Galicia. Estados dos proxectos

Abstract

After the stoppage in 2011 of the Proxecto Toponimia de Galicia (PTG), project whose objective was the collection of the approximately two million microtoponyms existing in Galicia, we had to reinvent ourselves and design new methods that allow, in a collaborative way, safeguard this immense intangible cultural heritage that resides in our toponymy and which, unfortunately, disappears in an accelerated way by the transformation of the traditional way of life in Galicia.

In this article, in addition to presenting the design of this new collaborative app for the collection of toponymy, we will show another on-line computing tool, with which the RAG toponymy specialists review, standardize and update the populated localities catalogue Nomenclátor of Galicia. This document, official since 2003, will have a new version on 2018 with the new feature that any location of any size will be georeferenced. We are also renovating the portal Toponimia de Galicia (toponimia.xunta.gal) to spread this intangible heritage through a toponymy searcher and the divulgation of contents related with the cultural value, singularities and meanings of many of our place names, issues that arouse the general interest in our society.
