Abstract

It is not the aim of this essay to make a detailed report of all the activity deployed up to now to celebrate the Día das Letras Galegas 2013 dedicated to Roberto Vidal Bolaño. Instead, with the present contribution we want to offer some thoughts on this playwright, actor, stage director, theatrical producer and stage designer, and also on the promotion and spreading of our theatrical culture. Besides, we wish to reflect on the situation of the performing arts in Galicia in this very same year that we are commemorating the figure of Vidal Bolaño and the 40th anniversary of the first Mostra de Teatro en Galego (later on called Mostra de Teatro Galego Abrente de Ribadavia and becoming today the Mostra Internacional de Teatro de Ribadavia or MIT).
